City Manager
The City Manager is appointed by City Council and serves as the City of Farrell’s Chief Executive and Administrative Officer of all City affairs as required by Council, to include management of all departments and employees, citywide. All powers and responsibilities are as defined in the City Charter.

Ben Prescott is a native from the state of Vermont. He has been married for over 25 years to his wife Laurie and has two children, Katie and Chelsea. Mr. Prescott has had an extensive dual-career path. His work history is focused in the area of tax and financial planning. His second career was in service to the country. He has held active duty, National Guard, and US Army Reserve positions and retired honorably at the rank of Colonel in 2015. Mr. Prescott's educational background includes a BA Degree from the University of Vermont, an MBA from Regis University, and a Master's of Strategic Studies (MSS) from the US Army War College. He holds the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation and the EA (Enrolled Agent admitted to practice before the IRS) designation. Mr. Prescott arrived in Farrell in April of 2020 and has been a resident ever since.
